Embrace Change & Transform your Life

I am addicted to yoga. I love the way it makes me feel. My mind, my bod and my soul. You see, before I started practicing yoga I was a highly strung, highly stressed, anxious mess. Yoga has helped me to work on my breathing, calm my nerves and allows me to remain in the present.

It’s also been amazing in transforming my body. But don’t take my word for it – here are 5 reasons why yoga is amazing for you and your health.

Improves Strength & Flexibility Practicing yoga regular helps improve strength and flexibility. Holding yoga poses for extended periods of time gently builds strength and muscle tone while lengthening our muscles and loosening the joints, allowing us to move more freely. It also helps us build core strength which improves our overall posture and spine health. You will notice the longer you practice yoga the stronger your body becomes, the longer you will be able to hold your poses and you will be able to take on more and more difficult poses.

Enhances Focus & Relieves Stress Yoga requires our brains and bodies to work together. While we focus on our breath, posture and body, other distracting thoughts are kept at bay. Practicing these skills daily can help improve our overall focus in other every day activities. Because of the many breathing techniques used in yoga, the repetition of slowly inhaling and exhaling can also help to relieve tension in the body enabling us to relax.

Assists in Weight Loss Practicing yoga can help us become much more aware of our body and attune to its needs. In turn we make healthier choices and consciously choose to nourish and fuel our body with the right foods, indirectly helping to control our weight. Whilst yoga may not be recognised as a high calorie burner aerobically, anyone who practices yoga knows that it requires a great amount of strength, flexibility, endurance and discipline. It works large groups of muscles as well as the mind simultaneously giving us a full body workout.

Increases Blood Circulation and Oxygen Yoga can help improve our blood circulation and floods our muscles with oxygen which can help reduce blood pressure levels, slow down our heart rate and improve our overall health.

Helps achieve Inner Peace and Self Awareness Practicing yoga daily allows us to practice self control and being in the present moment. Every time we practice yoga our body responds differently. Some days we may be more flexible, super focused and our senses may be increased with strong sense of intuition. Other days we may be distracted or limited by our bodies physical and psychological capabilities and that’s okay. We need to listen to our body and accept where we are in that present moment of practice. Learning to do this helps us in our relationships, at work, at school as we begin to have a higher understanding of the self. Accepting this help bring a sense of peace within the self.

Aside from all of this, moving your body in a slow, rhythmic flow just feels darn good. If you gain nothing else other than good feel vibes your still winning so why not try it?
