Matcha … You’ve heard of it. We are obsessed with it. But what is it?

Matcha green tea is an uber-healthy green tea made from nutrient-rich young leaves, stone ground into a very fine powder. Hailed a superfood, Matcha is rich in nutrients, antioxidants, fiber and chlorophyll. While matcha is a growing trend among foodies, it has been a tradition in Japanese culture for centuries.

Served ice cold or in a steamy latte, blended in a smoothie or added to your vegan dessert recipes, you can pretty much sprinkle this superfood like pixie dust into anything you’re prepping.

Matcha has a pretty distinct taste … it’s kind of like trying red wine or dark chocolate for the first time, but once your taste buds do a little dance with matcha they will make a lot of love and get down tonight! Some reasons we recommend to invite matcha into your diet:
  • One glass of matcha green tea is the equivalent to having 10 glasses of regular green tea …. say what?!
  • Known for it’s mood enhancing and relaxation benefits, this dynamic duo provides a sustained feeling of calm along with alertness. The perfect combo for meditation.
  • Matcha assists in weight loss and detoxifying the body thanks to it’s good friends fiber and chlorophyll.
  •
In case you need a little extra enticing, we have a delicious Matcha Ice Cream recipe to help sweeten the deal!

    3. Use the tamper to effectively press the ingredients into the blades while processing.
    4. Blend for 30 to 45 seconds or until desired consistency is reached.
