Release your inner WILDOctober 16, 2017
There is something dreamy about staring at a diamond lit night sky, marvelling at its beauty and snuggling up with your loved ones that makes you feel small in this big, big world—and like a little kid again.
We remember some nights when we would lay out on the grass and stare at the sky for hours, just to see a shooting star. Well, we say the magic is still there so make your own #fbf and take it all in. Grab a blankey, your boo, some snacks, a flashlight and some binoculars and head on out to marvel at one of the natural wonders of this incredible universe we live in.
Limit the lights around you – the darker it is, the more of that sparkling sky you’ll see
Seek out wide open spaces. It’s true this activity is better when you’re out camping and have nothing but sky for days to stare at, but you can have just as much fun in your backyard. Just remember to turn off any lights in the house and outdoors for increased viewing pleasure!
Grab a pair of binoculars – you don’t need a fancy telescope when you’re starting out and you could probably get away with the naked eye if you have some good peepers. That said, we do recommend a pair of binoculars to get the best view.
Study up a star chart . There are so many apps to download with star charts, which makes it super easy for amateur hour. In no time you’ll be able to pick out of the nights sky all the stars and constellations.
Set up blankets and pillows. While it’s still summer and evenings al fresco are perfect, you want to lay back and enjoy the starry sky for a good long time. So get comfy and tuck in for the night.
Want to feel like a kid again? We embraced our Inner Child and spent the night stargazing in awe of this big, wide universe! We want to see your stargazing adventures on Instagram so make sure you @thesoulsistersus #thesoulsisters
