How you start your day can determine whether it’s a positive, successful one or one of deflation and defeat. We know which type we would rather have, so don’t worry girl, we’ve got you covered! We have a morning ritual to ensure that every Soul Sister babe has an amazing start to her day!
 
You’ll want to give yourself an extra hour in the morning to make time for these 3 simple ways to set your day in motion The Soul Sister way. So backtrack your alarm— Your body, mind and soul will thank you.
 
 
This kick-starter will help fire up your metabolism and get your digestive system cranking. It’s packed with good bacteria to help boost your body’s immunity while stabilizing your blood sugar levels—talk about a killer kicker. Try throwing this back first thing in the a.m. (or bring it along to your morning yoga session) every day for 30 days and feel the difference.
 
Metabolic Kick-Start
  • 1 cup warm water>/li>
  • 2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (I have to omit the vinegar because I’m allergic but it’s incredibly beneficial for you gals so try it)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Dash of cayenne pepper

    This step is vital for starting your day right. Whether you like pumping iron, spin cycle classes or stretching it out on the yoga mat, let your body sweat. Raise your heart rate, get your lungs working, your blood pumping and your body moving.
     
    Moving your body first thing in the morning helps boost your metabolism. Believe it or not it also gives you MORE energy for the day ahead! We also know that exercising produces happy endorphins allowing us to feel more positive. Having a healthy, strong and happy mind is a super important way to start the day right.
     
    Committing to moving your body first thing in the morning also increases chances of movement success. Statistics show that those who leave moving and shaking plans until the afternoon tend to flake on the commitment. No body likes a flaker. Commit to 30 minutes of exercise a day. You can always increase this if your schedule allows. Plus, the more you fall in love with your morning routine and the way it makes you feel, the more you will want to move that body.
     
    It is also really important to tune in and listen to your body. Sometimes a high intensity workout is not what it needs. Maybe a brisk walk along the beach and some light stretching may be all that is required.
     
     
    Before the hustle and bustle starts, set 10 minutes aside to quiet your mind and just be. Breathe deeply and center yourself for the day ahead and picture exactly what you want to achieve TODAY. Paige and I do this together every morning together! Setting your daily intention is making a conscious choice on what to focus on and how to positively put this into effect. Be mindful of your intention for that particular sunrise to sunset, whether it is “I will express kindness to all of those around me” or “I will maximize my productivity by prioritizing my daily tasks.” Whatever your intention, say it loud, say it proud and hold yourself accountable.
